BISHOP DR. FIHAVANGO LEADS SPECIAL GRADUATION SERVICE AT ILEMBULA INSTITUTE OF HEALTH AND ALLIED SCIENCES (IIHAS)

ILEMBULA, NJOMBE – The Ilembula Institute of Health and Allied Sciences (IIHAS), owned by the ELCT Southern Diocese and situated at the Ilembula Lutheran Hospital, celebrated its graduation ceremony on July 25, 2026.

This significant academic and spiritual milestone opened with a special service of thanksgiving and blessing for the graduates, presided over by the Bishop of the ELCT Southern Diocese, Rev. Dr. George Mark Fihavango.

During the service, the Bishop was assisted by the Ilembula District Pastor, Rev. Sauli Mpimbi, along with clergy stationed at the institution, including the College Chaplain, Rev. Michael Mbogela, the Hospital Chaplain, Rev. Atulundise Wililo, and other resident pastors.

In his sermon, Bishop Dr. Fihavango reminded the graduates that the healthcare profession is a divine calling to serve humanity with love, humility, and integrity. He encouraged them to step out as salt and light in healthcare facilities across the country and beyond.

Following the church service, graduation festivities continued on the college grounds, where diplomas and certificates were awarded to graduates across various health disciplines.

The colorful ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including:

  • Department heads and leaders from the ELCT Southern Diocese.

  • Government officials at the regional, district, and council levels.

  • Leadership teams from both Ilembula Hospital and IIHAS.

  • Parents, guardians, and supporters of the institution.

The leadership of the ELCT Southern Diocese extends its warmest congratulations to all IIHAS graduates on this achievement, wishing them God’s abundant blessings as they embark on their mission to save lives and serve the community.
