Honourable bishop Mengele, dear Dean Dr. Fihavango, dear Rev. Dr. Mgaaya, thank you very much for this information. This is a very sad news and surprising for us since we did not know that Bishop Lukilo had been sick. We share the grief and the sorrow of the family of late bishop Lukilo and of ELCT Southern Diocese. Please convey our condolences and empathy to all family members and to all who mourn about the loss. As Christians we have hope that because of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, all who believe in him will have a home: the death has not the last word, but we trust in the love of God and the grace of the crucified and risen Lord. May he comfort, because our comfort has limitations. But in Him there is eternal life – uzima wa milele. Please greet all who attend the funeral. We are thankful for what the late bishop Lukilo has done during his service as pastor and bishop for his church and for his people. We greet you with the words of Psalm 103: Ee nafsi yangu, umhimidi Bwana, wala usizisahau fadhili zake zote, aukomboa uhai wako na kaburi, akutia taji ya fadhili na rehema. Manfred Scheckenbach
